## How Fact Lot works

- Read the source. Fact Lot takes asking-rent records from Fact Lease's public suite files, and ZIP context from Census files whose terms allow reuse. A host is read only after its terms of use are checked. A host that forbids reuse is not read.

- Date every fact. Each address, area, rent and use is stored with the day it was read and a link to the page that stated it.

- Leave gaps blank. A fact the source did not state is shown as not stated. It is not filled in, estimated or set to zero.

- Hold thin samples. A median is published only when at least five converted rents clear the plausibility gate, with n and the as-of date beside it.

- Keep suite detail on Fact Lease. For a suite record, Fact Lot links to the [asking-rent records on Fact Lease](https://factlease.com).

- Store corrections for review. Submissions are stored and reviewed before any change and are never auto-published. [Report a correction](https://factlot.com/corrections).
